M2Slim Install Guide

Disclaimer:
While I have done my best to make the install as easy as possible this is still an advanced mod requiring micro soldering and shell modification. I would not recommend this to a beginner. Please seek a professional installer if you do not feel confident attempting any of the steps involved.

Tools and Consumables

These are common for every install:

Required:

  • #0 and #1 Philips head screwdriver.

  • 2mm drill

  • Deburr tool (a bigger drill bit or file will work too)

  • Kapton tape

  • Temperature controlled soldering iron

  • Brass sponge tip cleaner

  • Good quality solder

  • No-clean Flux

Recommended:

  • Tweezers

  • Good quality desolder braid
    (gootwick and “2UUL Solder Vampire” are good, as well as quality name brands)

  • Blue Loctite

  • Multimeter (essential if anything goes wrong)

  • Torch or magnifier to assist inspecting solder joints


This is a list of the tools required for the different shell cut guides within step 7.
